Wieland is hiring a Machine Operator I for its Granite City, IL site, operating production equipment and feeding materials to semi-automated machines. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and the ability to follow directions from leadership.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of machine operation experience and a solid knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines. Salary ranges are posted hourly, with a Monday–Friday daytime schedule and on-site work.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of machine operation experience with process or production equipment in an industrial work environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines.
• Adherence to health and safety regulations - ability to wear PPE.
• Self-motivated with mechanical ability and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and as part of a team with safety as the number one priority.
• Follow directions from department leader(s).
• Set up machines to start a production cycle and perform daily start-up inspections.
• Operate one stationary machine proficiently.
• Feed raw material to semi-automated machines.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
