Job summary

Nerd Up Staffing is seeking a Mac Support Technician for a well-established professional services firm in McLean, Virginia. This full-time, on-site role places you on a small, close-knit IT team responsible for hands-on Mac support and device management.

You’ll troubleshoot hardware and software, manage Macs via MDM tools, and help executives maintain secure, up-to-date systems while explaining fixes clearly and working face-to-face with users.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience supporting Macs in a business environment.
• Experience managing Macs through an MDM platform (Jamf, Kandji, Mosyle, Workspace ONE or Intune).
• Solid hardware troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPN).
• Experience providing direct technical support to users.
• Strong troubleshooting instincts and ability to work independently while knowing when to elevate or collaborate.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and supporting Mac laptops and desktops, in person with users, including executives.
• Setting up, deploying, maintaining and retiring Macs through MDM and software deployment tools.
• Keeping software updates, patches and backups on track across the fleet.
• Diagnosing hardware, software, Wi-Fi and connectivity problems.
• Supporting iPhones, iPads and other mobile devices.
• Troubleshooting authentication, access and account issues.
• Spotting issues early and resolving them before users feel the impact.
• Helping colleagues get the most out of their technology.
• Documenting configurations, procedures and solutions, and maintaining accurate equipment inventory.
• Finding ways to automate or improve repetitive IT tasks.
