Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a M365 Engineer - Modern Workplace to administer and govern SharePoint Online, Viva, Power Platform, Fabric, and Azure services. You will partner with business and technical teams to deliver secure, reliable workplace solutions and automation. This role requires 3+ years of enterprise M365 experience and strong governance and scripting skills.

The position is remote with eligibility for US-based candidates. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 in an enterprise environment.
• Experience governing SharePoint Online and related workloads.
• Experience with Microsoft Viva, Power Platform, Power BI, Copilot Studio, Fabric, or similar platforms.
• Experience supporting Azure services and platform governance.
• Experience with Copilot for Microsoft 365 readiness and adoption.
• Experience with scripting/automation: PowerShell, Graph API, REST, JSON, webhooks.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support SharePoint Online, Microsoft Viva, Power Platform, Fabric, and Azure services with governance and reliability.
• Support collaboration sites, content management, permissions, and information governance across 365 workloads.
• Identify automation and digital transformation opportunities using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Copilot Studio.
• Support Fabric and Power BI administration for data integration and analytics.
• Manage Azure subscriptions, resources, and governance for Modern Workplace solutions.
• Assist Copilot readiness, governance, and adoption efforts.
• Automate tasks using PowerShell, Graph API, REST, and webhooks.
• Maintain security, compliance, change management, and documentation.
