Nelnet is seeking a M365 Engineer - Modern Workplace to implement, administer, and support Microsoft 365 services across SharePoint Online, Viva, Power Platform, Fabric, and Azure. The role emphasizes governance, security, and automation to deliver reliable collaboration and analytics.

The engineer serves as escalation point for complex incidents and drives documentation and knowledge transfer. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years of enterprise experience

Qualifications

• 3+ years administering Microsoft 365 in an enterprise environment.
• Experience governing SharePoint Online and related workloads.
• Experience with Viva, Power Platform, Power BI, Copilot Studio, Fabric, or similar platforms.
• Experience supporting Azure services for Modern Workplace governance and integrations.
• Experience supporting Copilot for 365 readiness and adoption.
• Experience with scripting/automation: PowerShell, Graph API, REST, JSON, webhooks.
• Familiarity with MFA, Conditional Access, DLP, retention, information governance.

Responsibilities

• Modern Workplace Platform Administration & Governance: governance and reliability for SharePoint Online, Viva, Power Platform, Fabric, Azure, Copilot.
• SharePoint Online & Content Collaboration: manage sites, permissions, and information governance across 365 workloads.
• Business Enablement & Low-Code Solutions: partner to identify automation and reporting opportunities with Power Apps/Automate/BI.
• Fabric & Analytics Support: admin Fabric and Power BI for data integration and BI use cases.
• Azure Services Management: manage subscriptions, resources, storage, and governance.
• Copilot Readiness & Adoption: enable Copilot governance and end-user adoption.
• Integration & Automation: automate tasks via PowerShell, Graph, REST APIs, and webhooks.
• Security & Compliance: collaborate on MFA, DLP, retention and access controls.
• Escalation & Knowledge Transfer: be escalation point and maintain runbooks and training.
• Continuous Improvement & Roadmap: monitor health, licensing, and roadmap changes to improve reliability and UX.
