Job summary

Unitek Learning is seeking a full-time nursing instructor for our LVN program in California. This role requires current RN or LVN licensure and involves teaching in classroom, lab, and clinical settings with no prior teaching experience required.

You will update syllabi, review program materials, and ensure compliance with safety regulations while mentoring students and coordinating with the program director. Competitive benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Current knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings; ability to work independently without close supervision; broad understanding of nursing sciences; strong communications skills.
• Maintain professional licensure and comply with nursing board requirements.

Responsibilities

• Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction using innovative methodologies and techniques.
• Demonstrate or acquire skills for utilizing online activities to enhance course content during interactive teaching.
• Review and revise syllabus for specific courses within the program and instructional guidelines.
• Submit required program reports to the Director in a timely manner.
• Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations.
• Maintain student attendance, grades, and skills check-off records and assist with data collection.
• Update and maintain student files related to clinical requirements and immunizations.
• Teach courses at varying times/locations to meet program needs.
• Teach both lecture content and clinical rotations (including days/evenings/weekend sessions).
• Participate in professional development and CE hours; stay current with college updates.
• Participate in committees as assigned while balancing teaching responsibilities.
