Job summary

Sweetwater Care is seeking a Nurse Assistant Training Program (NATP) Instructor to deliver the approved CDPH curriculum. The role involves 60 hours of theory plus 100 hours of supervised clinical training, conducted within specified hours.

The instructor will train non-certified individuals in basic nursing skills and elder care, adhering to regulatory standards. The position requires active RN/LVN licensure in California and nursing experience, including planning and evaluating education

Qualifications

Must include work experience in month/year format, name and address of each employer, and contact telephone number for HR or supervisor.
Two (2) years nursing experience (RN, LVN). One year in care of chronically ill or elderly patients in acute, skilled, intermediate, home, hospice or long-term care.
One year of experience planning, implementing, and evaluating education programs in nursing (DSD Certification).
Twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in nursing completed within six months prior to teaching a certification program.

Responsibilities

Prepare lesson plans to correlate with course outline.
Apply teaching strategies when implementing lesson plans.
Create and maintain a safe learning environment in classroom and clinical lab.
Maintain classroom and clinical discipline.
Adhere to training site standards and CDPH forms.
Provide student assessments and ensure requirements are met before clinical placement.
Maintain accurate records and student files for 4 years.
Manage attendance, absences, and make-up dates.
Provide supervised clinical training in a CDPH approved facility.
