Job summary

Sweetwater Care in Fresno and surrounding areas is seeking a LVN Instructor (DSD) to deliver the NATP program under CDPH guidelines. The role includes 60 hours of theory and 100 hours of supervised clinical training, with first-shift timing flexibility and a focus on safety and patient rights.

CA RN/LVN licensure is required along with 2 years nursing experience (1 year in elder care) and 1 year teaching/educational planning, or 24 hours CE for the Director of Staff Development.

Qualifications

• Active California RN or LVN license is required.
• Two years of nursing experience with at least one year in chronic/elderly care settings.
• One year of experience planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing education programs OR 24 hours CE for Director of Staff Development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans matched to course outline.
• Apply effective teaching strategies for theory and clinical training.
• Maintain a safe learning environment in classroom and lab.
• Maintain classroom and clinical discipline and standards.
• Recordkeeping using CDPH-approved forms and retain files for 4 years.
• Ensure students meet requirements before clinical placement.
• Report incidents to NATP Administrator and facility leadership.
• Coordinate daily attendance and arrange makeup sessions as needed.
• Provide supervised clinical training in a CDPH-approved facility (max 15:1).
• Demonstrate flexibility and strong organizational skills.
