Job summary

Sweetwater Care is seeking an experienced Nurse Assistant Training Program (NATP) instructor to deliver theory and supervised clinical training under the NATP curriculum. The role requires an active CA RN or LVN license and a minimum of two years nursing experience, including long-term or acute care settings.

Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, applying teaching strategies, maintaining a safe learning environment, and assessing students.

Qualifications

• Must include resume with verifiable work experience, dates in month/year format, employer details, and contact telephone number.
• Active RN or LVN license in California is required.
• Two (2) years nursing experience; one year in long-term care or acute care settings.
• One (1) year experience planning, implementing, and evaluating education programs in nursing.
• Alternatively, 24 hours of continuing education in planning, implementing and evaluating education programs completed within six months prior to teaching a certification program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans aligned with course outline.
• Apply teaching strategies to delivery of theory and clinical training.
• Create and maintain a safe learning environment in classroom and clinical labs.
• Maintain classroom discipline and adhere to site standards.
• Provide student assessments and ensure compliance before clinical placement.
• Maintain accurate records and student files for four years.
• Supervise clinical training in CDPH approved nursing facilities.
• Ensure instructor focus during theory and supervised clinical training.
