Job summary

Marcus Hotels & Resorts in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin seeks a Bartender to deliver exceptional beverage service at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. You will manage bar service, stock, and guest interactions, ensuring accuracy and hospitality at every step.

The role requires at least 1 year of fine-dining bartending, wine/spirits knowledge, ability to lift 35 lbs, and an 18+ age for alcohol service, with flexible Fri/Sat shifts and a valid bartending certificate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; must be at least 18 to serve alcohol.
• Minimum one year of bartending experience in fine dining; extensive knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer required.
• Flexible schedule required, including Fridays and Saturdays.
• Strong communication skills and familiarity with the hospitality industry.
• Ability to obtain necessary licenses; bartending certificate required.
• Must lift trays up to 35 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Basic math skills for cash register operations and understanding portion sizes.
• Proficient in English for guest communication and order taking; basic writing skills for requisitions and balance sheets.

Responsibilities

• Fully understands the drink menu, wine list, ingredients, and preparation.
• Responsible for the complete service at the bar and lounge.
• Maintains a constant flow of soiled dishes to the kitchen and clean supplies to the dining room.
• Meticulously cleans and resets the bar and lounge during and after meal.
• Has the ability to use the POS efficiently and manage bar inventory.
• Must be proficient in multi-tasking and managing designated stations.
• Must comply with opening and closing duties as well as running side work necessities.
• Must directly and consistently communicate with the culinary and management team.
• Processes guest’s checks and submits closing paperwork in a timely manner.
• Listens to and resolves customer complaints regarding service, product, and personnel.
• Must effectively delegate service responsibilities to the assisting staff such as to bussers.
• Perform other duties as assigned
