Marcus Hotels & Resorts seeks a Bartender for the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, WI. You will handle beverage service at the bar and lounge, ensure smooth operation, and work closely with culinary and management teams to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and at least 18 to serve alcohol.
• Minimum one year of bartending experience in fine dining.
• Extensive knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer.
• Flexible schedule including Fridays and Saturdays.
• Must obtain bartending licenses or certificates.

Responsibilities

• Fully understand drink menu, wine list, ingredients, and preparation.
• Provide complete service at the bar and lounge.
• Maintain flow of dirty dishes to kitchen and clean supplies to dining room.
• Clean and reset bar and lounge during and after service.
• Use POS efficiently and manage bar inventory.
• Communicate with culinary and management teams.
• Process guest checks and finalize closing paperwork.
• Escalate and resolve customer complaints; delegate tasks to staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

• Fully understands the drink menu, wine list, ingredients, and preparation
• Responsible for the complete service at the bar and lounge
• Maintains a constant flow of soiled dishes to the kitchen and clean supplies to the dining room
• Meticulously cleans and resets the bar and lounge during and after meal
• Has the ability to use the POS efficiently and manage bar inventory
• Must be proficient in multi-tasking and managing designated stations
• Must comply with opening and closing duties as well as running side work necessities
• Must directly and consistently communicate with the culinary and management team
• Processes guest’s checks and submits closing paperwork in a timely manner
• Listens to and resolves customer complaints regarding service, product, and personnel
• Must effectively delegate service responsibilities to the assisting staff such as to bussers
• Perform other duties as assigned

What we are looking for:

• High school diploma or equivalent; must be at least 18 to serve alcohol
• Minimum one year of bartending experience in fine dining; extensive knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer required
• Flexible schedule required, including availability on Fridays and Saturdays
• Strong communication skills and familiarity with the hospitality industry
• Ability to obtain necessary licenses; bartending certificate required
• Must lift trays up to 35 lbs. and stand for extended periods
• Basic math skills for cash register operations and understanding portion sizes
• Proficient in English for guest communication and order taking; basic writing skills for requisitions and balance sheets
