Job summary

The Hay-Adams in Washington, DC seeks a front-of-house host/reservations coordinator to coordinate, organize, and manage all dining room reservations for the Lafayette Restaurant. You will welcome guests at the door, seat them, answer questions about menus and hours, and assist servers to ensure a seamless dining experience.

This role requires excellent guest service, ability to handle VIP requests, and adherence to hotel grooming standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent guest service and communication skills.
• Ability to learn hotel product offerings and operating hours.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, organize, manage, and execute all reservations for the Lafayette Restaurant.
• Welcome and seat patrons at the Lafayette Restaurant and handling all door activities.
• Answer the phone in accordance with hotel standards and take reservations with guest details.
• Prepare seating assignments considering guest requests and preferences.
• Verify VIP reports and coordinate with hotel staff as needed.
• Assist servers and bus staff to ensure guests are satisfied.
• Address guest requests or complaints and escalate to management when necessary.

Education

High school diploma or GED; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
