Job summary

The Langham, Chicago seeks a seasoned Banquet Manager to coordinate the banquet department in a luxury setting, delivering quality products and services to guests while achieving high guest satisfaction.

You will finalize food, beverage and meeting room setups, uphold Langham Brand Standards and Forbes standards, and lead a team to provide exceptional service during high-volume events.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a manager in a high volume upscale or luxury operation.
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
• College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Finalize food, beverage and meeting room set-up requirements.
• Familiarization with catering's standard operating procedures and adhering to guidelines.
• Complete assigned projects promptly and accurately.
• Establish and maintain customer contact at all functions.
• Coordinate communication with executive and banquet chef, banquet staff, catering service managers, and catering staff.
• Recommend and identify new ideas, methods and markets.
• Promote energy conservation and sustainability programs; support accident prevention goals.
• Trace files to ensure proper finalization of programs.
• Inspect operations three times each shift.
• Conduct training classes for new serving and set-up equipment.
• Perform duties of managers when necessary to ensure property management coverage.
• Perform duties of line employees as needed under high volume and emergencies.
• Report for duty as scheduled by supervisor.
• Provide maximum guest service while upholding Langham standards.
• Ensure proper execution of Forbes service standards.

Education

High school graduation or equivalent

College degree preferred
