Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manager of the Separation & Crew Mechanisms within the Lunar Mechanisms team to lead hardware development for lunar missions.

You will oversee a team of engineers, manage requirements, design, integration, testing, and budget, and mentor staff to deliver safe, reliable spaceflight systems. This role emphasizes leadership, technical excellence, and a commitment to quality in a dynamic aerospace development environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and mentoring technical teams with strong leadership and employee development.
• 8+ years in full lifecycle development of aerospace structures and/or mechanisms.
• Experience in requirement definition, design, integration, verification and validation, qualification, commissioning, and operation.
• Staffing, budget, and schedule management in multidisciplinary projects.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• BS in engineering or other technical field.

Responsibilities

• Define, own, and control the subsystem technical baseline with leadership of the highest caliber.
• Define, own, and control the subsystem cost and schedule baseline, driving improvements in a dynamic environment.
• Lead engineers to specify, design, analyze, manufacture, integrate, test, and deliver hardware and software components.
• Manage external procurements and internal hardware dependencies for subsystem deliveries.
• Coach direct reports on performance and career development.
• Drive excellence in programmatic operations through data-driven management.
