Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state is seeking a Manager of Lunar Mechanisms and Structures Component Test to grow and lead a team of Component Test Engineers responsible for development, qualification, and test planning of components for Blue Moon landers. You will partner with Design Responsible Engineers, Quality, and Operations to deliver integrated test solutions across the full component lifecycle.

The role requires a systems thinker, hands-on engineering leadership, and a passion for safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in development, qualification, or acceptance testing of electromechanical/thermal/fluids systems.
• Ability to perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Proven ability to lead a high-performing team of engineers.
• Commitment to safety culture.
• Ability to read fluid schematics and wiring diagrams.
• CAD experience and test plan development.
• U.S. citizenship or resident status for eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for development, qualification, and acceptance testing of components.
• Develop test plans, procedures, and requirements meeting developmental and production objectives.
• Coordinate with internal customers to plan resources and track milestones.
• Oversee talent acquisition, development, coaching, and performance management for the team.
• Drive a culture of safety and ensure proper training and equipment.
• Collaborate with Design Responsible Engineers, Operations/Production, Quality, and contract manufacturers.
