Blue Origin in Space Coast, FL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems, ensure quality control throughout production, and optimize supply chain logistics specific to Production/Operations.

The role emphasizes collaboration across cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing techniques and reduce costs while meeting safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role.
• 3+ years of experience creating English work instructions.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted to the U.S.
• Must be able to work second shift and be flexible to move shifts as needed. A willingness to extend hours is required.

Responsibilities

• Support the industrialization of new products in solar arrays, integration and test, avionics, and structures.
• Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT).
• Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate building a road to space.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, and inspection plans.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods (e.g., composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
• Support root cause analysis of process or product non-conformances; develop corrective actions to enhance reliability.
• Ensure all work aligns with AS9100 and ISO 9001; support safety and sustainability.
• Participate in PFMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction; optimize production scale.
