Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Payload Responsible Engineer for the MK1 Lunar Lander Vehicle Engineering team in Seattle, WA. You will own end-to-end payload integration from interface definition to delivery on the lunar surface, interfacing with the payload customer and the vehicle engineering organization.

You will lead test planning, verification, and issue resolution across payload and vehicle teams, ensuring traceability and successful mission outcomes for lunar exploration programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of systems engineering experience on flight hardware programs.
• Ownership of interface requirements and ICDs.
• Knowledge of space systems design, interfaces and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration, test, and verification of the payload with the vehicle.
• Own payload-vehicle requirements and ICDs.
• Create and execute verification plans to demonstrate requirements.
• Develop test plans for integrated payload and vehicle tests and define success criteria.
• Coordinate with vehicle subsystems on payload impacts and cross-discipline issues.
• Lead interface negotiations with the payload customer and communicate constraints.
