Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL is seeking a Payload Responsible Engineer for the MK1 Lunar Lander Vehicle Engineering team. You will own end-to-end payload integration from interface definition through delivery on the lunar surface.

You will lead requirements, verification planning, and test campaigns, coordinating with vehicle subsystems and customers to ensure mission success. U.S. citizenship or eligible status is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Systems Engineering on flight hardware programs with ownership of interface requirements and ICDs.
• Knowledge of space systems design, interfaces and requirements across mechanical, electrical, thermal, data, RF.
• Experience planning and executing integration testing and anomaly investigations.
• Experience with spacecraft payload integration with NASA or commercial customers.
• Strong ability to communicate complex technical information to stakeholders including customers and leadership.
• U.S. citizenship or eligible status for U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Lead payload-vehicle integration, test, and verification with the vehicle.
• Own payload-vehicle requirements and ICDs; create verification plans and evidence.
• Develop test plans defining resources, dependencies, sequencing for tests.
• Define test scope, objectives, and success criteria for integrated tests.
• Coordinate with vehicle subsystems to assess payload impacts and drive cross-discipline resolution.
• Serve as primary technical contact for payload customers; negotiate interfaces and communicate constraints.
