Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Payload Responsible Engineer for the MK1 Lunar Lander Vehicle Engineering team to be the primary technical interface between the payload customer and the vehicle engineering organization.

You will own end-to-end payload integration from interface definition through delivery on the lunar surface, shaping design, development, integration, and verification of the payload with the spacecraft to enable mission success.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of systems engineering on flight hardware programs with ownership of interface requirements and ICDs.
• Detailed knowledge of space systems design, interfaces (mechanical, electrical, thermal, data, RF).
• Experience planning and executing integration testing, including objective definition and anomaly investigations.
• Experience with spacecraft payload integration with NASA or commercial payload customers.
• Strong communication of technical information to stakeholders.
• U.S. citizen or eligible for U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration, test, and verification of the payload with the vehicle.
• Own payload-vehicle requirements and ICD.
• Create and execute verification plans for payload-vehicle interfaces.
• Develop and deliver payload/vehicle test plans and success criteria.
• Prepare Test Integration Readiness Reviews for VTB and flight campaigns.
• Manage end-to-end test planning and data analysis for HSI tests.
• Lead response to test findings and drive closure.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, interfaces, and testing.
• Communicate interface changes to stakeholders.
• Define and manage payload-vehicle interfaces across lifecycle.
• Prepare material for program reviews and customer meetings.
• Coordinate with subsystems to resolve cross-discipline issues.
