Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced structural analyst to join the Lunar Permanence team working on the Lunar Transportation system for crew and cargo to the Moon. You will perform concept-to-draw analyses for fluid and pressurized systems used in lunar spacecraft, develop verification plans, and support trade studies and tooling development in collaboration with NASA and national partners.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in structural analysis, FEM tools, and aerospace experience,

Qualifications

• Minimum of B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace, civil engineering or physics.
• 10+ years structural analysis experience in aerospace, energy or transportation.
• Ability to solve a variety of static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods, such as hand calcs, in-house tools, and commercial analytical tools.
• Experience with FEM software (preference: ANSYS Workbench, NASTRAN)

Responsibilities

• Analysis from concept to drawing release of fluid and/or pressurized systems designed for Lunar spacecraft applications
• Closed-form and Finite Element analyzes development, refinement, validation, and correlation to tests
• Strength checks and analysis report generation.
• Test and verification plan and report generation.
• Support configuration development and trade studies.
• Process and tool development.
