Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer on Merritt Island to define and manage mission-specific system requirements for the Lunar Permanence program. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure verification planning, traceability, and performance of the avionics subsystem for a human-rated lunar spacecraft.

You will collaborate with customers and contractors, establish interfaces and verification artifacts, and drive verification closure across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Experience defining system requirements and verifications for aerospace systems.
  • Experience with MBSE and interface definitions.
  • Ability to collaborate with customers and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Lunar Permanence Lead Systems Engineers, Spacecraft Vehicle Engineering, Flight Software, and Ground Systems Engineering Teams to define system requirements in a model-based environment across multiple customers and missions.
  • Engage with internal and external customers, including government agencies and contractors, to perform analysis of unique customer and mission requirements.
  • Develop and manage requirement specifications, including internal and external interfaces, with accurate flow-down and traceability.
  • Understand and define the relationships and traceability between requirements, design parameters, technical budgets, ICDs, program plans, and technical performance measures.
  • Establish certification, verification, and validation approaches for team analysis tools’ methodology and results.
  • Establish verification approaches and plans for system requirements and identify Integration and Test activities required for successful requirements Verification Closure Notices.
  • Work across organizational boundaries to manage the successful acquisition of verification data necessary to show compliance to system requirements.
