Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a seasoned avionics hardware engineer to own the development and delivery of spacecraft avionics products through the full lifecycle. You will work closely with electrical, mechanical, embedded software, FPGA, and mission assurance teams to ensure safe, reliable hardware for lunar missions.

Responsibilities include defining requirements, leading design and testing, and coordinating with suppliers for PCB assembly and box builds.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 6+ years in avionics hardware design, development, or verification.
  • Experience leading hardware lifecycle across requirements, design, build, test, verification, and release.
  • Experience with digital, analog, and/or mixed-signal hardware and PCB design.
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting with lab equipment and root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development and delivery of avionics hardware products across the lifecycle (requirements to sustainment).
  • Drive technical decisions, interface definitions, trade studies, and architecture for integrated avionics hardware.
  • Plan and execute hardware integration, verification, qualification, and testing; troubleshoot anomalies and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers for PCB assembly, box build, inspection, nonconformance resolution, producibility improvements, and flight-quality delivery.
  • Lead cross-functional resolution of design, interface, build, and test issues with engineering and manufacturing teams.
