Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer to define, capture and manage mission-specific system requirements for the Lunar Permanence avionic subsystems. You will work with a team of specialists to verify spacecraft performance and ensure requirements compliance across intra- and inter-element interfaces, focusing on verification planning and execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical field is required.
• 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience including requirements definition, traceability, interface definition, design documentation, integration, verification, and validation.
• Understanding of the Systems Engineering lifecycle and the 'Systems Engineering V' model.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Lunar Permanence Lead Systems Engineers and cross-functional teams to define system requirements in a MBSE environment across customers and missions.
• Engage with customers and contractors to analyze unique requirements.
• Develop and manage requirement specifications with accurate flow‑down and traceability.
• Define relationships and traceability between requirements, design parameters, budgets, ICDs, plans, and performance measures.
• Establish certification, verification, and validation approaches for analysis tools and results.
• Establish verification plans for system requirements and identify ACTs for verification closure notices.
• Coordinate across boundaries to acquire verification data showing compliance to requirements.
• Perform compliance and traceability assessments and report findings to leadership.
