Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in the Greater Seattle Area is seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer to define and manage mission-specific requirements for the Lunar Permanence program, collaborating with software, hardware and test teams.

You will establish verification strategies, ensure traceability from requirements to design, and support system-level validation for a human-rated lunar spacecraft.

Relocation provided; travel up to 25%, and a strong MBSE culture with Confluence and Jira usage.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or equivalent technical field.
• Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS, Jama).
• 5+ years Systems Engineering: requirements, traceability, interfaces, design docs, integration, verification, validation.
• Understanding of Systems Engineering lifecycle and the V-model.
• Background in avionics subsystems (Power, CDH, comms, harness).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to define system requirements across customers and missions.
• Develop and manage requirement specifications with interfaces and traceability.
• Define verification/validation approaches and plans.
• Coordinate with test teams for verification data.
• Report metrics and issues to leadership.
