Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer for the Lunar Permanence program in Seattle. You will define and manage mission-specific system requirements and verification artifacts for the Avionics subsystems of a human-rated lunar spacecraft.

You'll work with cross-functional teams including spaceflight hardware, software, and integration & test engineers to establish verification baselines and ensure requirements compliance across intra- and inter-element interfaces.

Qualifications

• B.S. in engineering or equivalent technical field.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, etc.
• 5+ years of Systems Engineering covering requirements, traceability, interfaces, design, integration, verification and validation.
• Understanding of the Systems Engineering lifecycle and the 'V' model.
• Background in avionics subsystems (Electrical Power, CDH, Communications, harness).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Lunar Permanence teams to define system requirements in MBSE.
• Engage with customers and contractors to analyze mission requirements.
• Develop and manage requirement specifications and interfaces with traceability.
• Establish relationships between requirements, design parameters and budgets.
• Define verification approaches and plans for system requirements.
• Plan and execute verification activities and data collection.
• Report metrics and issues to program leadership.
