Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an avionics leader to develop autonomous, human-rated lander avionics for the Lunar Permanence program. You will lead cross‑functional studies, define interfaces, and oversee requirements, verification, and integration for a crewed lunar lander system.

You will collaborate with NASA and partners, coordinate sensor and data budgets, and drive change management across subsystems to ensure safe, reliable spaceflight. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. in an engineering/technical field as listed.
• 8+ years of full lifecycle avionics experience.
• Experience integrating spacecraft subsystems (avionics, software, structures, GNC, power).
• Demonstrated ability to define and manage communication protocols.
• Knowledge of electrical digital/analog interfaces (Serial, Ethernet, etc.).
• Strong systems engineering practices and MBSE familiarity (SysML preferred).
• Proficiency in MS Excel and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Act as the negotiator between multiple stakeholders with conflicting interests to optimize the spacecraft design.
• Contribute to or lead Avionics architecture studies, concept development, verification planning, vehicle integration, and operations support.
• Manage Avionics requirements development, definition, and maturity
• Develop and manage Avionics physical, logical, and network interface control documents (ICDs)
• Develop and maintain data and communication budgets
• Develop and maintain integrated electrical architecture diagrams.
• Coordinate constraints across disciplines
• Contribute to or lead change management and assess design change impacts
• Coordinate sensor selection and end-to-end sensor error analysis
• Identify, assess, and manage program risks (technical, schedule, cost, integration)
• Tool development for maintaining vehicle electrical configuration and definition.
