Blue Origin is seeking an experienced avionics engineer to lead cross-functional studies and define interfaces for the crewed lunar lander avionics system. You will collaborate with NASA and national partners, driving requirements, architecture, and integration across subsystems to deliver safe human spaceflight.

You will apply technical leadership, strong communication, and rigorous quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical subject area.
• 8+ years relevant experience in the full life cycle development of avionics systems, including requirements, design, integration, test, and operations.
• Deep experience in integrating spacecraft or high criticality aerospace subsystems - Avionics, Software, Structures, GNC, power system, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to define and manage communication protocols.
• Demonstrated understanding of electrical digital and analog interfaces (Serial Bus, Video, Audio, Ethernet, etc.).
• Strong systems engineering practices, integration processes, and safety-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as the negotiator between stakeholders to optimize spacecraft design.
• Lead avionics architecture studies and interfaces.
• Manage avionics requirements and maturity.
• Develop and maintain ICDs for avionics interfaces.
• Maintain data and communication budgets and electrical diagrams.
• Coordinate constraints across disciplines and manage changes.
• Identify risks and support risk mitigation in schedule and cost.
• Develop tools for maintaining vehicle electrical configuration.
