Job summary

Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc. seeks a field-based Sales Specialist to drive long-term care sales in the Washington DC metro area and surrounding territories.

You will build relationships with physicians, pharmacists, facility leaders, and other LTC team members to identify and maintain patients on Acadia therapies. The role requires neuroscience knowledge, strong selling skills, and the ability to travel up to 80% with a focus on payer systems and LTC dynamics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, life sciences preferred.
• 3 years of sales experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare, neuroscience preferred.
• 8+ years healthcare sales for Sr. Specialist; 12+ years for Executive level.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 80%.
• Residence within the territory or 30 miles of its border; proximity to major airport if required.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with LTC care team members.
• Promote Acadia products with clinical, disease state, and reimbursement education.
• Address questions, concerns, and objections with advanced selling skills.
• Develop territory plans using data to maximize reach within budget.
• Guide pricing, reimbursement, and LTC profitability parameters; liaise on access questions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to address business needs.
• Represent Acadia at conferences, launches, and training events.
• Mentor and train junior Sales Specialists.
