Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. The LPN will assist with oral medications, IV piggybacks, trach care, and dressing changes under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include charting assessments and care plans, coordinating with physicians, and supporting patient education through discharge instructions. The unit is a 43-bed high-acuity setting with a strong collaborative culture and access to educators and nursing leadership.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• College diploma: Licensed Practical Nurse (required).

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and IV piggybacks as ordered, excluding IV Push meds.
• Chart initial and ongoing assessments and participate in the care plan.
• Collaborate with RN and physicians/APPs to coordinate dressing changes.
• Perform trach care, NG tube management and feeding as needed.
