Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an LPN for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. You will administer medications, manage IV piggybacks and dressings, and document assessments with RN oversight.

The role includes collaboration with physicians and APPs to coordinate patient care, with emphasis on careful care planning and patient discharge education. This position offers a $2,500 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment for external applicants.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license is required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire - AHA.
• 1+ year of LPN work experience.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and hangs IV piggybacks/fluids.
• Chart assessments on assigned patients after RN initial assessment.
• Chart care plans with RN involvement and open new plans as needed.
• Coordinate with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care.
• Perform trach care as needed and NG tube care/feeding.
• Care for ostomy and reinforce discharge instructions.
