Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations in Houston. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety, review test results, and respond to adverse events under Center Manager and Center Physician guidance.

You will be familiar with plasma collection regulations and will support EHS programs, contributing to a safe, compliant center environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including nursing program completion.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state: LPN or LVN.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training completed.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility and informed consent process.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for abnormal findings or guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and refer to EHS guidance.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations.
