Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support donor eligibility, adverse events, and coordination with medical staff. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure compliant center operations and health/safety guidance.

The role requires nursing licensure (LPN/LVN), CPR/AED certification, and at least two years in a clinical setting, with FDA training compliance and IV therapy readiness.

Qualifications

• LPN or LVN license in the relevant state.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Able to follow FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and self-exclusion, medical history interview, and acceptance requirements.
• Perform physical exam, blood testing, and review SPE results.
• Evaluate donor reactions and ensure medical emergencies follow SOPs and physician standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for abnormal findings and guidance on medical/technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS as needed.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
