Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda company, seeks a Medical Support Specialist to ensure donor eligibility, monitor adverse events, review lab results, and communicate findings to the Center Physician. The role reports to the Center Manager and supports EHS programs.

Responsibilities include managing donor safety, coordinating with Medical Affairs, and maintaining compliance with plasma collection regulations while supporting vaccination initiatives and incident investigations as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold EMT/LPN/RN licenses in the employment state.
• CPR/AED certification required.
• FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist required.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience required.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, education, self-exclusion, interview and eligibility review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical/technical issues or donor safety guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for occupational health evaluation; follow EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support related investigations.
