Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be licensed or certified in the state of assignment: EMT-B/A/I, LPN/LVN, or RN
• Current CPR and AED certification
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience
• FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility; obtain informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion; review med history and do physical exams and SPE testing
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage emergencies per SOPs; arrange center physician standing orders and donor transport
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for eval by occupational health/ER; follow EHS guidance
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations in the community
