Job summary

Carle Health seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. You will provide medication administration, IV piggybacks, wound care, and collaboration with RNs to support patients with high-acuity needs.

The unit features 43 beds and a 1:4–6 nurse-to-patient ratio, emphasizing safety, teamwork, and education. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered for external applicants.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Illinois license or eligibility.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• College Diploma: LPN required; 1+ year LPN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and hangs IV piggybacks per protocol.
• Chart assessments and assist with care plans after RN assessment.
• Perform dressing changes, trach care, and NG tube care as needed.
• Communicate with physicians/APPs for orders and care coordination.
• Reinforce patient education and discharge instructions.
