Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit on our Saint Paul team. You will perform medication administration, IV piggybacks, dressing changes, and basic nursing tasks under RN supervision in a 43-bed, high-acuity unit.

The role emphasizes patient safety, teamwork with surgical residents, and discharge education. A $2,500 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment is offered to external applicants.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - AHA.
• College diploma: Licensed Practical Nurse (Required).
• LPN with 1+ year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications, hang IV piggybacks and fluids as ordered.
• Chart assessments and contribute to care plans with RN input.
• Perform trach care, dressing changes, NG tube/feeding care as needed.
• Coordinate with physicians/APPs for orders and discharge education.
