Job summary

Ies Communications, LLC is seeking a Department Manager to lead a team of project managers and department staff in El Paso, TX. You will own project profitability, staffing, materials, and on-time delivery while building high-performing teams for a large data center project.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years in low voltage or related technical construction fields.
• Minimum of seven years of supervisory or managerial experience, including managing project managers and/or other managers.
• Proven track record of driving projects and financials to profitability.
• Ability to define a project, build the scope of work, develop tasks, and manage to completion.
• Strong ability to read blueprints, specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
• Experience liaising with customers as the primary company contact.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and reports.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
• High School diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of project managers, managers, and department staff, including recruitment, training, supervision, promotion, discipline, and termination when needed.
• Drive project and department profitability by planning, managing, monitoring, and protecting margins to meet company financial goals.
• Oversee scopes of work including structured cabling, audio-visual, security, life safety, estimating, or BIM.
• Manage workload distribution across the department to keep projects on schedule and on budget.
• Participate in and/or lead the bid process.
• Manage all quality and safety issues on customer work.
• Serve as the Company's main point of contact with customer representatives.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to meet department goals and objectives.
• Manage HR issues according to company policies and escalate as needed.
