Job summary

IES is seeking a Department Manager to supervise and direct a multi-discipline team across electrical, mechanical and communications projects.

You’ll drive project profitability, manage staffing and resources, and ensure safe, on-time delivery to customers in accordance with company policies.The role requires seven years of supervisory experience, five years in telecom or related field, and proficiency with MS Office and project management tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum seven years of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Five years of experience in telecommunications or related technical/construction field.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, train, manage, supervise and discharge department staff per policy.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to meet department goals.
  • Manage workload distribution of department staff.
  • Plan for and monitor project profitability to achieve company goals.
  • Manage scopes of work including structured cable, AV, security, life safety, estimating or BIM.
  • Participate in and/or facilitate the bid process.
  • Manage quality and safety issues on customer work.
  • Act as company liaison with customer representatives.
  • Create and implement account process improvements.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
