Job summary

The South Dakota Lottery in Rapid City is seeking a customer-focused Retail Sales staffer to support retailers and the public. The role blends office tasks with field work, covering Rapid City and western South Dakota.

You will process claims, sell and cash tickets, reconcile the daily cash drawer, and travel for promotions and events. Work week is Mon–Fri 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, with occasional longer days.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to travel and work irregular hours for events.
• Valid SD driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must pass background checks and credit/background screening.

Responsibilities

• Process claims, sell and cash tickets, and reconcile the Rapid City daily cash drawer.
• Deliver instant tickets and supplies; merchandise and display materials in retail locations.
• Maintain retailer relationships and provide training on lottery rules and POS materials.
• Cover route responsibilities across Rapid City and western South Dakota.
