Job summary

The South Dakota Lottery, part of the Department of Revenue, is seeking a professional sales staff member to support retailers and customers in Rapid City and western South Dakota. The role covers office and route duties, from delivering tickets to merchandising and cash handling, with occasional travel for events.

Working hours are typically 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional longer days during promotions.

Qualifications

• Experience in collaborative team environments and effective time management.
• Must possess or obtain a valid South Dakota driver's license and have a good driving record.
• Must submit to a credit and state/federal background check.
• Ability to travel and work irregular hours occasionally.
• Knowledge and experience with product marketing, merchandising, POS materials and display techniques.

Responsibilities

• Process claims, sell and cash lottery tickets, and reconcile the Rapid City daily cash drawer.
• Deliver instant tickets and supplies, merchandise, and return tickets; deploy POS materials for instant and lotto games.
• Maintain retailer relationships and monitor ticket replenishment to ensure secure stock and accurate displays.
• Travel to work events, activities and meetings; support promotions at assigned retailers.
