Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Suffolk, VA is seeking a Loss Prevention Coordinator to support delivery-related freight claims, OS&D review, and claim resolution. You will work with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Transportation and carriers to protect profitability and service.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 2+ years in logistics or claims, Excel proficiency, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required with 2+ years in logistics, customer service, claims processing or related field.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to interact with internal teams, customers, and carriers.
Highly organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Review daily OS&D occurrences and carrier claims to identify issues and determine next steps.
Compile and distribute daily Claims Reports accurately and on time.
Monitor outstanding OS&D issues and ensure timely resolution.
Communicate with internal teams, external partners, customers, and carriers to gather details for resolution.
Investigate delivery discrepancies, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
Process necessary inventory and customer account adjustments related to confirmed OS&D discrepancies.
