Job summary

Burlington is seeking a Part-time Shortage Control Associate to help maintain a secure shopping environment while delivering excellent customer service. You will greet customers, monitor entrances, and report theft incidents to managers, supporting shortage reduction programs and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years in retail or loss prevention, can work flexible hours including nights and weekends, and portray a confident, energetic presence with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to visually monitor store environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the entrance and high-risk areas to reduce opportunities for theft and keep the store secure.
• Greet every customer entering or exiting with a warm smile and energetic greeting.
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty.
• Conduct bag and package checks on associates in line with safety standards.
• Support training of associates on shortage reduction programs and safety practices.
