Job summary

Burlington is seeking a Part-time Shortage Control Associate to help create a secure shopping environment while delivering exceptional customer service. You will monitor entrances, greet customers, and support shrink reduction efforts with discipline and a positive attitude.

The role requires awareness of theft trends, thorough reporting to the Manager on Duty, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to visually monitor store environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances and high‑risk areas to deter theft and ensure a secure environment.
• Greet customers with a warm, confident greeting and promote a sense of control and security.
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty.
• Conduct bag and package checks in accordance with safety and security standards.
• Support training of associates on shortage reduction programs and processes.
