Job summary

The Longfellow Hotel in Portland, ME is seeking reliable Line Cooks to join our culinary team. This role supports breakfast, lunch or dinner service, working in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen with high standards for food preparation, safety and presentation. The schedule offers part-time and full-time options with shifts from early morning to evening.

Pay rate ranges from $21 to $23 per hour. Prior kitchen or line cook experience is preferred; ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain

Qualifications

• Prior kitchen or line cook experience preferred, especially in breakfast/brunch service.
• ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook daily menus according to established recipes and standards.
• Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies before service begins.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations.
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures are followed.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
• Adapt to special requests with flexibility and attention to detail.

Shift: 6AM – 3PM / 8AM-4PM / 3PM-10PM
Pay Rate: $21-23/hour
