About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a Logistics Specialist to work in the Philadelphia Corporate office. The Logistics Specialist manages the logistics functions daily, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely management of international and domestic carriers using approved vendors.

Responsibilities

1. Plan and coordinate import shipments from vendors to distribution centers, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
2. Coordinate bookings with overseas offices, resolving issues with ocean carriers and forwarders.
3. Track and trace import shipments, updating relevant departments on shipment status.
4. Resolve customs brokerage issues at borders.
5. Act as liaison for special and large projects between vendors, warehouses, and carriers.
6. Assist management in negotiating contracts with transportation providers.
7. Facilitate transportation solutions and rates for internal departments and distribution centers, preparing RFPs, and selecting carriers based on policies.
8. Analyze freight bill audits, address billing discrepancies, and report to management.
9. Collaborate with customs brokers, carriers, and forwarders to expedite shipments.
10. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Experience in import practices and knowledge of Customs regulations.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
3. Ability to work with employees at various levels.
4. Detail-oriented and proactive.
5. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; proficiency in MS Office required.
6. Associate’s degree in business or related field required; Bachelor’s preferred.
7. At least 1 year of related experience in Logistics/Supply Chain; 2+ years preferred.
8. Equivalent education, experience, and training may be considered.
