Job summary

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of Administrative/operational support in shipping/manufacturing operations.
• Able to apply policies, procedures, regulations, and program objectives effectively.
• Basic knowledge of information systems including tracking systems and reporting systems.
• Good oral and written communication across departments.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual and clerical duties related to the shipment and receipt of materials, supplies, equipment and finished products shipped via freight or third party LTL carrier
• Pack goods for shipment according to specifications, prepare bills of lading, post weights and shipping charges, attach information and shipping instructions on boxes
• Receive materials, unload trucks, check against bills of lading and packing slips, maintain records of goods received
• Support manufacturing areas with routine duties and maintain documentation
• Operate material handling equipment to stage materials and load trucks
• Communicate with customers, suppliers, production; coordinate with departments to ensure proper handling and shipping at lowest cost
• Assist management with departmental activities, training, safety and special projects; ensure safety and quality standards
• May drive a delivery van locally, maintain a safe vehicle and comply with regulations
