Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons is seeking a shipping/receiving associate to support material movement, receiving, loading, unloading, and shipping of printed products. You will ensure orders meet customer specs, maintain records, and work with carriers and internal teams to optimize workflows.

Responsibilities include packing, load planning, and using forklifts while adhering to safety policies. This role may involve local delivery and collaboration across departments to maintain accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of administrative/operational shipping support.
• Knowledge of information systems for materials tracking and inventory control.
• Strong oral and written communication across departments.
• Able to operate powered industrial vehicles safely.

Responsibilities

• Ships and receives materials and finished products via freight or LTL carriers.
• Checks goods against shipping documents and prepares bills of lading.
• Unloads trucks and verifies against packing slips and identifiers.
• Supports manufacturing with routine duties and documentation.
• Maintains records and files related to receiving/shipping.
• Operates forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Communicates with customers, suppliers, and production.
• Coordinates with departments to ensure safe, cost-efficient handling.
• Assists management with safety and special projects.
• Ensures compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Reports problems to management promptly.
• Attends production meetings to coordinate shipping/receiving.
• Keeps receiving/shipping area clean and organized.
• Understands and supports the Quality Policy and Objectives.
• May drive a delivery van in the local area.
