Job summary

Penske Logistics in Joliet, IL seeks an experienced Senior Operations Supervisor to lead hourly workforce, oversee driver deliveries, loading/unloading, and cross docking, ensuring service levels and cost objectives are met.

You will supervise planning, scheduling, and reports, coach staff, and partner with safety, finance, and customer teams to optimize productivity, attendance, and compliance across location operations.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of related functional experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to travel as necessary and work the required schedule.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Communicate performance standards and interview hourly associates.
• Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance markers; provide counseling or recognition.
• Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading/unloading, dispatch and documentation.
• Evaluate and implement changes to improve dispatch/warehouse productivity; assist in training.
• Manage working hours to minimize overtime and meet productivity targets.
