Job summary

Penske Logistics in Joliet, IL is seeking an Operations Supervisor to provide operational leadership to hourly staff and oversee driver deliveries, loading/unloading of trailers, and customer service in line with company services and cost objectives.

You will supervise processes and personnel, manage performance, coaching, and hiring activities, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. The role includes a 2:00pm–11:00pm shift and performance-based bonus potential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading/unloading, dispatch and documentation control.
• Conduct team meetings.
• Assess and propose changes to improve dispatch productivity; assist in training new associates.
• Provide relief coverage during time off or absences.
• Maintain knowledge of site's operating systems to ensure compliance and correct exception resolution.
• Complete all necessary records and reports timely and accurately.
