Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, to ensure safe and timely movement of freight and best-in-class customer service.

You will be trained to comply with DOT regulations, and to manage all drivers' compliance while coordinating with internal and external contacts to plan, route, monitor, and deliver freight and loads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 1 year of management/transportation/logistics experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain relationships with drivers and carriers to optimize fleet operations.
• Fill in for absent personnel and work on projects related to profitability and efficiency.
• Assist with driver training, payroll, budgeting, and reporting duties.
• Plan, route, and monitor freight movement to meet customer requirements and improve service.
• Coordinate with maintenance for preventive maintenance and safety issues.
