Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee for May 2027 to learn management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, ensuring safe and timely movement of freight and outstanding customer service.

You will gain exposure to load assignment, DOT compliance, cost control, and reporting while coordinating with drivers, customers, and internal teams to optimize fleet operations and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of related experience.
• Experience managing a team is preferred.
• Ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build positive professional relationships with drivers and safe carriers to ensure seamless carrier setup and productivity.
• Assist with payroll, Net-Revenue budgets, and management reporting.
• Plan loads, route freight, monitor performance, and provide best-in-class customer service.
• Support yard management, maintenance scheduling, and safety/compliance activities.
